Steelmans enjoyed another
successful Subcon Show at the NEC,
Birmingham. The
exhibition took place between the 9th and
11th of June and attracted 30%
more visitors than previous
years, 280 exhibitors and created a positive
atmosphere of business being done.
Flying
in the face of headline stories about a
recession in manufacturing, buyers turned up
ready to do business and looking for new
suppliers. Steelmans welcomed guests to
their stand and had the opportunity to meet
potential customers with exciting new
projects and opportunities. Visitors to the
Steelmans stand were met with a range of
broaching and cutting tools along with
examples of our subcontract services and
complete manufacturing solutions.
The total
spending power of visitors to the show is
said to have came to over £1.8 billion of
outsourced work per year, with over half of
them directly making purchasing decisions.
Also 60% said that they had come
specifically to look for new suppliers.
Event
Director Jon Hughes said: “Despite the
gloomy background this was one of the most
succe ssful Subcon shows of the past 20
years. Not only was there a buzz of activity
wherever you went, but people were doing
real business, sharing drawings and asking
for quotes on current projects. We are
looking forward to building on this in 2010,
adding even more value for our visitors and
exhibitors.”
The reputation that Steelmans enjoys as a
premier supplier of broaching and cutting
tools in the UK is being enhanced each year.
"Subcon 2009 gave us an ideal platform to be able
to communicate our capabilities to a wider
audience and as a result we are now
receiving more orders for the manufacture of
complete components. This is an area we are
keen to expand and with precision machining,
broaching and gear cutting all on one site at Manchester we have a distinct
advantage over many competitors".
Steelmans
will exhibit again in 2010 as Subcon returns to the NEC
in June alongside the
MACH, Drives & Controls, IFPEX, Plant and
Works and Airtech exhibitions.
